Can I just say that I haven't played Mafia since I was an RK Mod, many moons ago, and I don't remember it being this mathematical.

Okay now I got my role. I agree with Mav, day 1 lynches are better than day 1 no-lynches. And also, somebody mentioned that the only power town have is the night actions and they are useless without. That's a heap o' shit because the most powerful weapon the town have is the ability to discuss the day to day happenings in the thread and to vote. As town, we have the majority vote which means if a case is strong enough against a certain player then enough people have to agree in order for the lynch to go through.
Statistically in a game of this size it is incredibly difficult for the mafia to lead a lynch on someone without the case being super strong. At the same time, lurking in a game of this size is virtually impossible.
So to summarise, in a game of this size no-lynches are never good.

Regretfully everything is like a shot in the dark. I can't dispute the use of the first day, nor the importance of actually being vigilant on getting the lynch. It just makes me nervous. I hate seeing townies die right off the start. Especially since we may all have roles. I doubt many of us are powerless.

The game can be won without power roles, and a good Mod will nerf the ability for power roles to trump day play anyway...
