So, I guess this is targeted more towards J-Reb and Callahan, but it can apply to anyone, I suppose. My question is basically, what type of style is preferred here in PURE? When judging RPs, what, in particular, are you looking for? The last fed I was in had a very specific criteria when judging RPs that was totally different than everything I've done before, and I want to know if I can write how I'm using to writing, as opposed to a specific style.
I guess that also opens the floor up to everyone. What is your preferred style of writing RPs? What do you prefer to read?

Depends on the character. With Ash and her mentor-character Kyle Cross, I've almost always gone full-on naked shoot: thenewepic.proboards.com/thread/4536/ash-scionthenewepic.proboards.com/thread/2530/kyle-crossSince these have been my two most successful characters, I guess I've figured out how to make it work for me. That having been said, every new fed is a bit of a feeling out process. What works really well in one place might be an abject failure somewhere else. With the one RP/3000 Word limit in place here, I'll likely go with what's served me in the past and alter it if need be. As an aside, both of those links above utilize that Google Web Fonts plugin I mentioned the other day. If you guys have any interest in using it here in PURE, let me know and I can walk you through the install (it's a little more involved than your average plugin install).

I'm going to write a post on my specific judging criteria before the day is out but I'll sum it up easy now;
-Novel or script writing style, 1st or 3rd, it's up to you. Whatever you find easiest to work with. Just be entertaining.
-This is a wrestling roleplay and relevancy to your match is essential. If you talk about your character's parking ticket and how it's another debt to the mountainous pile but it bares no relevance to the match, it could be Dickens level well written and you will lose.
-I personally like a solid promo but as a guy who writes a crap load of Character Dev, I can appreciate both sides.
-Whoever can communicate why their character should win a match and how a win will enhance their story in the best and most effective way will win. Make me believe that your character should win.

That last bullet point might have been the most concise criteria anyone has ever said. Well done.

goofy writers could make the parking ticket skit work if it affects their match, i.e. "i need to get to the arena and finish preparing for my match! i got no time to worry about where i park." followed by tomfoolery, but if it's a random scenario that bears no consequence: indeed no good.
lots of roleplayers write generic fluff they'd see on monday night raw and figure "this is wrestling!" but i try to read aggressive and intense because i'm selling a fight. people say they're all about storytelling instead of winning, yet this competitive game requires winners to tell great stories.
on any given day, a showcase between legends like Ric Flair versus Stone Cold would outsell Test fighting Triple H for Stephanie McMahon's love.

At the same time, I've been places where your opponent writes a 456k epic on how they fought vampires and werewolves, not even mentioning wrestling, the promotion, their match or their opponent a single time, then get mad, really really mad when they don't win.
Although to be fair, I've also seen places where it's like "LOL, wrestling? Loser."
